IamaSource Feedback to the first 500 Logo Proposals

As you have noticed, the IamaSource Crew has begun to send feedbacks to the first 500 logo proposals received in these early days of our contest.
In the coming days we will continue to send feedbacks to the many proposals that we are going to receive in order to have a continuous exchange of creative ideas with all the designers who joined to the contest..

How we have left feedbacks

1 - Comment on the single proposal

IamaSource has left comments on the single proposals (obviously not on all the different versions of the main layout of a proposal). We tried to give some constructive feedbacks to improve together. You can view IamaSource comments simply clicking on one of your logo proposals in the gallery. On the right of this page you can scroll through all the proposals that you have submitted for the contest, while on the bottom of the page (below your proposal description) you may find a valuable IamaSource comment. Check it out!

2 - Star rating

Through star rating it is possible to assigne from 1 to 5 stars to each logo proposal. This rating gives the designers an immediate idea of how each proposal is evaluated by the client.
Giving a judgment is always very difficult. We would therefore say that star rating does not want to be a vote but rather an indication to improve.

Here there are the criteria by which we have rated the logo proposals

0star0 Star
The proposal has not been rated or it is a different version of the main layout

0star1 Star - You can do better
The proposal has elements far from what client needs

0star2 Stars - Exert yourself
The proposal has a creative idea, but it should be improved to have it stronger

0star3 Stars - Not bad
The proposal follow the brief, and it has some interesting creative elements and a satisfying graphic design

0star4 Stars - We got it (almost)
Besides 3 stars rate, this proposal is very close to what client likes

0star5 Stars - We got it
The proposal is awesome, close to the expected result

Still no one gets over 3 stars which would maybe suggest some further development is needed, I have a few ideas sort of done but holding back out of fear of getting lost in the crowd, hopefully will post soon once that one "awesome" logo takes shape, great idea for a competition though, hope there are more to follow!

@ Psycho_Dragon, as you said we wait for some improvements on the logos submitted so far. This should hopefully lead designers to develop proposals rated 4 or (hopefully) 5 stars!
The advice we want to give to you and to the entire community is not to be afraid of getting lost your logo concept in the crowd. We constantly monitor the logos we receive and we look forward to rate 5 stars a great proposal!

    Cheers,
    Alex

IamaSource Crew, This is great news, please don't go finishing the competition early as I'm currently still refining a concept down and would hate to miss submission due to development.

    Cheers!

What about the designs that are posted for the first time, will they be taken into consideration and rated? In the first pages some of the designs are rated, but not all of them and a lot appear for the first time.

How about the 4 and 5 stars rating? If you don't rate designs that were previously rated, how would the designers know that their evolution of the design is ok? Will they get 4 or 5 stars?

    Thanks.

    Hello.

I think the criteria and the notation is a good system, so designers will have an evaluation on where their design stands.

I see that most of the pages have ratings, but what happens with new designs that are not rated yet? Do they still have a chance to get a note? Or should we consider that they were not interesting enough to get at least one star?

How about the designs that have 3 stars and new variations are posted ... if they have no star ratings means that the design hasn't evolved enough to get a higher rank?

    Thank you for your clarifications.

    @ J.S.
All proposals are analyzed and rated also those which have been uploded time ago and that you can find in the first pages. If many of the proposals are not rated is because they are simple adaptations of designs already rated and created by a same designer. Many designers use to upload many proposals with minor changes, we recommend not to waste time and energy, but rather wait for the client rating and only then make some substantial adjustments.

Regarding 4 or 5 star rating as you can see in recent days appeared 4 stars proposals. These are the proposals that have been previously rated with 3 stars and whose designers made good adjustments required by us.

In the coming days we will identify 5 stars design: the finalists of our contest.

Thanks for your questions and stay tuned!

    @ Anca G.

Even the last design that will be uploaded one second before the deadline will be rated. Certainly during the last hours of the contest we will not give feedback, in fact even if we gave suggestions we could not accept proposals after the deadline.

Designs that have 3 stars and new variations posted.
As you said if they have no star ratings (0 star) means that the design hasn't evolved enough to get a higher rank. Otherwise those proposal get 4 stars (or five if they are the contest finalist).
In fact as you know zero star means that the proposal has not been rated or it is a different version of the main layout.

    Thanks for your questions Anca
